01 Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the DJStack service. This includes:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and hashed password when you register.
  • Preferences: your chosen language (EN/RO) and application settings stored in your profile.
  • Music metadata: track titles, artists, BPM, key (Camelot), file paths, and duration — scanned from your local storage and stored in your personal library database.
  • Set data: setlists you create, track ordering, and notes you add.
  • Device records: names and paths of USB drives or folders you register with DJStack.
  • Usage data: basic server logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) used for security and debugging only.

We do not collect your actual audio files. Your music stays on your devices. DJStack only reads metadata and streams audio locally within your own session.

02 How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

  • Authenticate you and maintain your session securely.
  • Display and manage your personal music library and setlists.
  • Sync your library and preferences across your sessions.
  • Process subscription payments through Stripe.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., password reset) if applicable.
  • Improve the stability and performance of the platform.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

03 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a secured database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.

We apply standard security measures: HTTPS encryption, secure session cookies, and access controls. However, no system is completely immune to attack — we encourage using a strong, unique password.

Your data is retained as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, library, setlists) is permanently removed from our systems.

04 Your Music Files

DJStack operates as a local-first application. Your audio files are never uploaded to our servers.

When you add a device or folder, DJStack reads the file metadata (ID3 tags, file name, duration, BPM if embedded). This metadata is stored in your account's database to power the library view, search, and Camelot wheel.

Audio playback happens via a local streaming endpoint — your files are served directly from your registered device to your browser within the same private session.

05 Payments

DJStack uses Stripe to process subscription payments. When you make a payment:

  • Your card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure payment form and are never seen or stored by DJStack.
  • Stripe provides us with a transaction ID and payment confirmation. No card numbers, CVVs, or bank account details are stored on our servers.
  • Stripe's own privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

06 Cookies & Sessions

DJStack uses cookies strictly for:

  • Session management: a secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you logged in.
  • Language preference: a cookie storing your chosen language (EN/RO).

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. No data is shared with advertising platforms.

07 Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings.
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time.
  • Export your library data by contacting us.
  • Object to any processing of your data beyond what's strictly necessary for the service.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

08 Children's Privacy

DJStack is not directed at persons under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

09 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice.

Continued use of DJStack after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
